Von Miller Wants To ‘Figure It Out’ With Rams Before Exploring Other Options In Free Agency

The Los Angeles Rams were one of the most aggressive teams at the NFL trade deadline last season, sending a 2022 second-round and third-round draft pick to the Denver Broncos for star pass rusher Von Miller.

The team was criticized for giving up the haul of picks to acquire the eight-time Pro Bowler at the time, who had been in the midst of a down season with the only organization he’s known.

The change of scenery proved to be beneficial as Miller turned back the clock by recording at least one sack in his final four games of the regular season. He notched five sacks in eight overall games with the Rams and had 9.5 in 15 games when factoring in his production with the Broncos.

After helping the Rams win Super Bowl LVI, Miller indicated he wanted to finish his career in L.A. The team is also believed to be interested in bringing the 32-year-old back into the fold.

While returning to the Rams is a strong possibility, the Broncos and L.A. Chargers are among the other teams expected to pursue Miller when the NFL free agency period begins next week, per Aaron Wilson of Pro Football Network:

While there’s strong mutual interest between Miller and the Rams, sources emphasized that he’ll also explore the market once free agency begins. Per sources, among the several NFL teams holding an interest in Miller are the Los Angeles Chargers.

The Denver Broncos, Miller’s former team that traded him last season to the Rams, are also interested. A reunion isn’t necessarily Miller’s first choice in free agency, though, per a source.

According to Josina Anderson of CBS Sports though, Miller will give the Rams the first chance to re-sign him before going elsewhere:

Prior to joining the Rams at the NFL trade deadline last season, Miller had spent parts of the first 10 seasons of his career with the Broncos. A return to Denver could be intriguing to Miller, not only because of familiarity, but due to the franchise reportedly swinging a blockbuster trade for Russell Wilson.

But as noted, a reunion with the Broncos isn’t necessarily Miller’s first choice in free agency. He evidently enjoyed his brief time with the Rams and could look to run it back, as he previously hinted at the team’s Super Bowl parade.
