Rams Rumors: There’s ‘Mutual Interest’ In Von Miller Returning In Free Agency
Los Angeles Rams outside linebacker Von Miller (40) raises the Vince Lombardi Trophy after Super Bowl 56 between the Cincinnati Bengals and the Los Angeles Rams at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, Calif., on Sunday, Feb. 13, 2022. The Rams came back in the final minutes of the game to win 23-20 on their home field. Super Bowl 56 Cincinnati Bengals Vs La Rams

One of the biggest reasons for the Los Angeles Rams’ Super Bowl run was the production of Von Miller, who the team acquired midseason in a trade with the Denver Broncos.

At the time of the trade, the Rams were criticized for giving up second and third-round picks for Miller, who looked to be past his prime.

He silenced all of those doubters though by coming up with big play after big play to win his second Lombardi Trophy. Miller had five sacks in his final four regular-season games with the Rams, recording at least one in each game.

The 32-year-old then followed that up with an outstanding postseason, recording four sacks, six tackles for loss and six quarterback hits in four games.

Now, Miller is set to hit free agency and is in for another big payday after his late-season resurgence. At the Rams’ Super Bowl parade, Miller already teased running it back along with Aaron Donald and Sean McVay.

With free agency just around the corner, it appears that wasn’t just talk as Ian Rapoport of NFL Network is reporting there’s mutual interest in Miller returning to the Rams:

“Von Miller, of course, the biggest addition for the Super Bowl champions. He’s 32-years-old, but you look at the way that he performed the last several games, just looking like his young self. No doubt gonna command a big payday, but my understanding is there’s mutual interest in him being back in L.A. It’s gonna be high, but I have no doubt the Rams are gonna do everything they possibly can to bring him back.”

Miller himself then teased about wanting to run it back on his Instagram, via Cameron DaSilva of USA Today:

With Miller, Donald, Leonard Floyd, Greg Gaines and others on their defensive line, the Rams had one of the best pass rushes ever in 2021, and it would be in their best interest to keep that group intact moving forward.

While it won’t come cheap, the Rams will have some money available to give out this offseason, and it seems their priorities are retaining both Miller and Odell Beckham Jr.

Things can always play out differently once free agency starts, but all indications are that Miller will be returning to help the Rams defend their title.
