Los Angeles Rams pass rusher Myles Garrett was ranked No. 1 on the NFL Top 100 list heading into the 2026 season.
He is the first defensive player to top the annual rankings since Aaron Donald in 2019. His previous high was No. 8 last year. Garrett is coming off a historic 2025 season with the Cleveland Browns that saw him set the NFL single-season record with 23 sacks en route to being named Defensive Player of the Year.
Garrett is entering his first season with the Rams after they acquired him from the Cleveland Browns in exchange for three future draft picks and two-time Pro Bowler Jared Verse.

There was a lot of excitement surrounding the trade as it convinced Donald to come out of retirement so he could play with a generational talent like Garrett.
With Byron Young, Kobie Turner, Braden Fiske, Poona Ford and others, the Rams are now set to have one of the most feared defensive lines in NFL history.
Garrett will have a chance to build on his historic year with a Rams team that is among the favorites to win the Super Bowl this season.
Garrett is the sixth Rams player to be included on this year’s NFL Top 100 list, joining reigning MVP Matthew Stafford (No. 4), Puka Nacua (No. 7), Davante Adams (No. 53), Byron Young (No. 84) and Kyren Williams (No. 89).
Rams announce team captains for 2026 season
The Rams announced the following players will serve as team captains during the 2026 season: Garrett, Stafford, Adams, Williams, Tyler Higbee, Coleman Shelton, Kobie Turner, Nate Landman, Trent McDuffie, Quentin Lake and Joe Cardona.
Stafford, Williams, Higbee, Turner, Landman and Lake have been team captains in the past, while Garrett, Adams, Shelton, McDuffie and Cardona are newcomers.
The Rams having 11 team captains speaks to the amount of leadership and experience on their roster, which can only be a good thing as they try to deliver another Lombardi Trophy to Los Angeles.
