The Los Angeles Rams completed two huge trades during the offseason that added a pair of All-Pro players in Myles Garrett and Trent McDuffie to their roster.
The Rams were also linked to star wide receiver A.J. Brown prior to the Philadelphia Eagles trading him to the New England Patriots. Had the Rams acquired him, they almost certainly would have needed to move Davante Adams to another team.
The 33-year-old understands the nature of the business, so he doesn’t have any ill will toward the Rams for considering a potential trade and is happy to still be with the team.
“I’m a teenager in this league now, so, I mean, you got to understand there’s certain things that each team, you know, does or has to do in order to — just from top to bottom — it’s just the way that this business goes,” Adams said during training camp.
“You gotta evaluate, you gotta look at certain things and ultimately I’m still a Ram and I’m here and happy to be here. That’s all that matters right now. I know my teammates are excited to have him here and just worried about going out and having a good training camp and seeing where the year goes.”
Adams easily could be mad at the Rams for exploring a possible trade, but he instead is letting go of the past and focused on the upcoming season.
He is entering his 13th NFL season and second with the Rams. Adams led the league with 14 receiving touchdowns last year and is once again slated to be a big part of the team’s offense.
Adams was recently ranked No. 53 on the NFL Top 100 List going into the 2026 season. Two other Rams have made the list so far with Kyren Williams coming in at No. 89 and pass rusher Byron Young slotting in at No. 84, but more are sure to come in the top 50.
Ty Simpson signs rookie contract with Rams
The Rams reported to training camp on Saturday morning and took care of business as they signed first-round draft pick Ty Simpson to his rookie contract.
Simpson will reportedly earn $25.4 million in his fully guaranteed four-year contract, on top of a $14.94 signing bonus. He is expected to get a ton of reps in training camp and the preseason, which is why it is great to see him get his deal signed to avoid any sort of hold out.
