The Los Angeles Rams worked out Aaron Donald in an official capacity on Wednesday, as was reported on the league’s website.

This is the latest sign that he is seriously contemplating a return to the Rams after retiring two seasons ago. Donald put on pads to continue to see how his body responds to this ramp-up, per Ian Rapoport of NFL Network:

Things have been trending up for Donald since the start of training camp as he has worked out on his own to see if he can get that itch to commit to returning. This all came to be when the team acquired Myles Garrett in a blockbuster trade with the Cleveland Brows, giving them the modern-day version of Donald as the scariest defensive player in the game.

They also have arguably the best offense in the entire NFL and with the Super Bowl being at SoFi Stadium again this year, which is where Donald won his first ring, and it makes sense that he may want to give it another shot after taking two years off. Donald retired at just 32 years of age after 10 seasons and has kept himself in great shape, making this is a legitimate possibility.

As training camp at Loyola Marymount wraps up this week and the Rams return to their own training facility in Woodland Hills, there should be more clarity on Donald’s potential return. Once he decides he wants to play, the organization will work with him to figure out the contract details.

Kobie Turner excited about potential Aaron Donald returns

One person who is excited to potentially reunite with Donald is fellow defensive tackle Kobie Turner, who discussed how crazy it would be for him to suit up again for the Rams again.

“That’d be crazy,” Turner recently said. “I know he’s been messing around with it. … Having 95 (Garrett) out here does some things. … To have two historic defensive players on that line together and to have the rest of us who are trying to build up our reputation and to build to that greatness they have garnered, I think that’d be cool for L.A.”

Turner was a teammate of Donald’s his rookie year and built a strong bond, taking on some of the legend’s leadership responsibilities since he retired.
