The Los Angeles Rams’ blockbuster acquisition of Myles Garrett has another franchise legend thinking about suiting up again as Aaron Donald admitted that he is flirting with the idea of coming out of retirement if he can find that fire and passion again.

The Rams already had a young, talented defensive line, but adding both Garrett and Donald to the mix would certainly take things to another level. One member of that defensive line who would be happy if Donald came back is Kobie Turner, via Nate Atkins of The Athletic:

“That’d be crazy,” said defensive tackle and captain Kobie Turner, who played with Donald as a rookie in 2023. “I know he’s been messing around with it. … Having 95 (Garrett) out here does some things. … To have two historic defensive players on that line together and to have the rest of us who are trying to build up our reputation and to build to that greatness they have garnered, I think that’d be cool for L.A.”

Turner got to play with and learn from Donald during his rookie season, which has helped him develop into the leader he is today. When asked if he thinks Donald returning is an actual possibility, Turner believes it is because of the legend’s makeup:

“I don’t think you do that if you’re a normal person,” Turner said. “AD is not a normal person.”

The Rams have made it clear to Donald that there is a spot for him on the roster if he wants to return, and now the ball is in his court. He obviously has stayed in great shape since retiring, so now it will just be about seeing if he can find that passion again. Likely aiding that is the fact that the Super Bowl is at SoFi Stadium this year, which is where Donald won his first championship with the Rams.

Cooper Kupp told Aaron Donald he can’t come out of retirement

One person who doesn’t want to see Donald suiting up for the Rams again is Cooper Kupp as the Seattle Seahawks wide receiver revealed that he texted exactly that to the future Hall of Famer.

“I already texted him and told him he’s not allowed, so we’re good. I just texted Aaron and said, ‘Don’t even think about it,’ and left it at that. So, we’re good,” Kupp said.

“I’m not worried about it, because he’s not. Because I told him he can’t. I already nipped it in the bud. No one has to worry.”
