With Ahkello Witherspoon landing on injured reserve due to a broken clavicle, the Los Angeles Rams added some cornerback depth by signing Tre Brown to a one-year contract.
Brown most recently spent time with the San Francisco 49ers and was placed on IR in August before being released with an injury settlement earlier this month. He was originally selected by the Seattle Seahawks in the fourth round of the 2021 NFL Draft. In parts of four seasons with the team, he recorded 74 total tackles, eight passes defensed, two interceptions and two forced fumbles.
Brown said the Rams have welcomed him with open arms and immediately noticed a different kind of energy surrounding the team, via Nate Atkins of The Athletic:
New Rams CB Tre Brown, now on his third NFC West team:
"Everybody here has welcoming arms. I love the energy. I played them a few times. I see why even if they were in any situation, they were able to climb out. They glue everyone together. The trust Sean McVay."

Brown is eager to show the Rams what he can do and hopes to make an impact on special teams:
More from new Rams CB Tre Brown:
"I'm going to go out there every day and give myself a chance to show them that they can trust me when that time comes. I'm going to go out there and do what I do.
… Special teams is where I'm going to try to hone in and take over."

Brown will likely be a backup with the Rams as Cobie Durant, Emmanuel Forbes Jr. and Darious Williams are all ahead of him on the depth chart. However, Brown’s previous experience is valuable in the event he needs to play more snaps.
Blake Corum happy to score first touchdown with Rams
Blake Corum had five carries for 44 yards and scored his first career NFL touchdown in the Rams’ 33-19 win over the Tennessee Titans on Sunday.
Corum was grateful to find the end zone and credited Kyren Williams and running backs coach Ron Gould for helping him grow as a player.
“It felt great,” Corum said postgame. “Everyone’s journey is different, and I’m so thankful (for) the journey that I’m on. Learning from a great running back like Kyren (Williams), having Coach G (running backs coach Ron Gould) teach me so much. I learned so much from last year, and then going into Year 2. But it feels great getting into the end zone today, and hopefully there’s many more to come.”
