After one of the most successful seasons in franchise history, the Atlanta Falcons were able to keep their team relatively intact. Atlanta possessed one of the most dynamic offenses in the NFL led by up-and-coming quarterback Matt Ryan and may have gotten even better over the course of the off-season.

Veteran tight end Tony Gonzalez was believed to be one player that wouldn’t return. After seriously considering retirement, Gonzalez chose to give it one more year in Atlanta and seems very confident the Falcons will have the an elite offense with the addition of running back Steven Jackson via Kevin Patra of NFL.com:

“Obviously, we’re led by Matt Ryan,” Gonzalez said. “With him pulling the trigger, with Roddy (White), Julio (Jones), myself, we’re going to try and soften up that defense a lot where they got to stand back and play off us a little bit. That is going to make big holes for a guy like Steven Jackson, and we should hopefully go out there and be the perfect offense.”

With all the weapons at Ryan’s disposal heading into next season, it’s hard to argue with Gonzalez’s comments here. The Falcons will without a doubt be a legitimate Super Bowl title contender once again with one of the most well-rounded offenses in the league. As long as long as Jackson, Ryan, Jones, White and Gonzalez stay healthy, few teams will be able to compete with the explosive offense of Atlanta in 2013.

Although the Falcons will be a force to be reckoned with next season there’s plenty of other teams in the NFC that may be equally as talented. The San Francisco 49ers will definitely be another team to watch out for along with the Seattle Seahawks and Green Bay Packers.
