The Los Angeles Rams blew out the Jacksonville Jaguars in London to improve to 5-2 on the season.

The Rams scored five touchdowns in the game, including two from rookies Konata Mumpfield and Terrance Ferguson.

Mumpfield found the end zone for the first time as an NFL player with a five-yard touchdown reception in the first quarter. Ferguson later caught a 31-yard pass from Matthew Stafford in the fourth quarter for his first NFL touchdown.

After the game, Ferguson explained how he got so wide open for his first NFL score, via Stu Jackson of TheRams.com:

“I was running the route, he was already panicking on the run in the corner, and then so the post was just wide open,” Ferguson said. “I’m just blessed to be put in that opportunity, the coaches and everyone to trust me. And obviously it was a great throw right, right in the bread basket.”

Ferguson was grateful to score his first NFL touchdown and contribute to the Rams in their win over the Jaguars:

“So it meant a lot for all that to come to fruition, to be able to score a touchdown in a big game with the guys,” Ferguson said.

Ferguson credited the Rams coaching staff for putting him in a good position to have success against the Jaguars:

“Honestly, I’d say take it back to the coaches that put me in good situations, trust me in big moments, the fourth down and that third down,” Ferguson said. “And showing my ability make to make explosive plays and get open. It definitely means a lot when those are kind of big moments, but everyone just trusted me, and obviously it’s a cool thing.”

Sunday was only the fifth time this season that Ferguson was active for a game. Prior to his touchdown reception, the 22-year-old had only been targeted once and caught the pass for 21 yards.

Ferguson’s touchdown against the Jaguars was even more impressive considering it came on a 4th and 1 play. The score gave the Rams a four-possession lead over the Jaguars and effectively ended any chance of a Jacksonville comeback.

Matthew Stafford explains how Rams beat Jaguars’ blitz

Matthew Stafford completed 21 of 33 passes for 182 yards and a career-high tying five touchdown in the Rams’ 35-7 win over the Jaguars on Sunday.

Stafford was often under pressure due to the Jaguars blitzing more than half of the time, but the veteran quarterback enjoyed the challenge and credited them for making his job tough.
