While a lot of the attention surrounding the Los Angeles Rams in recent days has been their signing of Odell Beckham Jr., it’s important to remember that the team also acquired Von Miller ahead of the trade deadline.

Both acquisitions show that the RAms are all-in for a Super Bowl this season, bringing in star talent to help them in the stretch run.

Miller was acquired before the Rams’ last game against the Tennessee Titans, although he did not end up playing due to an ankle injury. The issue was not believed to be serious, but the Rams wanted to be extra cautious to ensure he is healthy and can contribute in the postseason run.

It appears the week off was enough for Miller to get healthy though as Sean McVay anticipates him making his Rams debut on Monday night against the San Francisco 49ers, via Stu Jackson of TheRams.com:

According to Adam Schefter of ESPN though, Miller will be a game-time decision for L.A.:

The Los Angeles Rams will not play pass-rusher Von Miller unless the team believes his ankle injury is close to fully healed, sources told ESPN.

If Miller doesn’t play Monday night against the 49ers, he also would get next week’s bye to further recover from the left ankle sprain he suffered Oct. 21 against the Browns. The Rams’ first game after their bye weekend is Nov. 28 in Green Bay against the Packers.

The Rams plan to test Miller before Monday night’s game to make their final determination, according to a source.

Even if Miller is playing, it will be interesting to see how many snaps he gets considering he hasn’t played in a couple of weeks. It’s possible he only plays in pass-rushing situations, although that is where he makes his main impact anyway.

Considering where the Rams are at in the standings, a game behind the first-place Arizona Cardinals, this is a game against an inferior opponent that they really need to win. And considering the loss they’re coming off against the Titans, plus their recent lack of success against the 49ers, there’s no doubt they will be looking to get back on track this Monday night.
