Sean McVay: Dodgers’ Shohei Ohtani Is ‘Always Welcome’ To Rams Locker Room

The city of Los Angeles has been fortunate enough to witness some of professional sports’ biggest stars.

L.A. is arguably the sports hub of the world right now as the Los Angeles Lakers, Los Angeles Dodgers and Los Angeles Rams have all won championships already this decade. The Lakers and Rams won titles in 2020, while the Rams took home Super Bowl LVI in 2021.

Despite some playoff let downs, every team is looking poised to make triumphant returns to the postseason as the Rams are currently projected to keep a Wild Card spot while the Dodgers are assembling their own superstar squad after they agreed to terms on a record-deal with superstar Shohei Ohtani.

Shortly after signing with the Dodgers in free agency, Ohtani made an appearance at SoFi Stadium to watch the Rams beat the New Orleans Saints. Ohtani even got a chance to see the Rams’ locker room and Sean McVay extended him an open invite.

“Hey, he could do whatever he wants,” McVay said. “He is always welcome. It was cool to be able to have him. I didn’t realize how big he was. He had a great way about himself. It was really cool to be able to meet him. I’m a fan of his and I’m a huge fan of Dave Roberts, and so I know how jacked up he is to be able to have him on the squad. And so that was really cool. And I know a lot of the guys got a chance to meet him. So he is welcome anytime for however we can take care of him.”

McVay is no stranger to greatness and Ohtani is going to go down as one of the best players to ever play given what he’s accomplished overseas in Japan and in MLB. For McVay and the rest of the players, it must’ve been cool to see Ohtani who several people noted was a lot taller than they expected.

Celebrities and fellow professional athletes are common sights at SoFi Stadium and it’ll be fun for fans to see Ohtani there whenever he makes his next appearance.

Kyren Williams eager to add more rushing yards

With Ohtani in attendance, Kyren Williams put on a show as he rushed for over 100 yards and a touchdown. Willams crossed the 1,000-yard rushing mark against the Saints but later said he’s eager to add to his season total.
