The Oakland Raiders are coming off another disappointing loss with the New York Giants getting the best of the silver and black at MetLife Stadium in Week 10. Although the Raiders lost their second straight game, the players remain confident they can bounce back and finish the season strong.

In Week 10, rookie offensive lineman Menelik Watson made his first NFL start at right tackle. Watson dealt with numerous injury issues throughout training camp and during the preseason, but has played well in the limited time he’s been on the field.

Unfortunately, Watson’s NFL debut didn’t go as planned for the rookie and he feels embarrassed by his performance.

Shortly after the game, Watson made a promise to the avid fans of the Raiders via Twitter:

With the offensive line ravaged with injuries this season, the offense has struggled to play consistently well with virtually no protection up front for Terrelle Pryor, Darren McFadden and Rashad Jennings.

The return of Watson was thought to be a considerable upgrade to the offensive line, but the Florida State product didn’t play as well as expected. Despite the poor play by Watson, it’s an admirable trait that the rookie would make this statement to reassure Raider Nation he’s the right man for the job.

It’ll be interesting to see if Watson steps it up in Week 11 with the Raiders on the road for a second straight week to face the Houston Texans.
