The Los Angeles Rams returned home and earned a 17-7 victory over the Chicago Bears.

The Rams started the game on defense where they allowed a couple of receptions that got the Bears on their side of the field, but they missed the 48-yard field goal attempt. However, Los Angeles’ drive ended in a quick turnover as Todd Gurley fumbled the ball on his first carry.

Chicago gave it back after failing on a 4th-and-9 passing attempt, but Jared Goff was then picked off for Los Angeles’ second turnover. Mitch Trubisky was able to get Chicago back into scoring position, but Eddy Pinero missed his second field goal attempt, leaving the game tied at 0 heading into the second.

The Rams attacked the Bears on the ground as Gurley ripped off several chunk gains, setting up a Greg Zuerlein field goal that put them up 3-0. With nothing going in the ground game, Trubisky looked to throw downfield but was eventually picked off by Troy Hill.

On the ensuing possession, Jared Goff found Cooper Kupp for a 51-yard bomb that set up a Gurley one-yard run-in to put the Rams up 10-0. With under two minutes to go, Trubisky once again had trouble finding any open receivers and their offense stalled out, giving Los Angeles the lead going into the half.

After a Rams three-and-out to open the third quarter, the Bears finally put together a cohesive drive that ended with a Tarik Cohen receiving touchdown, resulting in a narrow 10-7 game. Los Angeles was unable to answer as Gurley was tackled for a loss on third-and-1, giving Chicago another crack on offense.

Poised to gain some momentum, the Bears were unable to build on their first successful drive as David Montgomery was tackled for a loss on a read-option play. The two teams traded three-and-outs for the remainder of the third, with the Rams holding onto a slim three-point lead going into the final quarter.

The offensive woes for Chicago and Los Angeles continued as neither side could find any momentum throwing or running the ball to start the fourth. However, the Rams finally saw their passing attack come to life as Josh Reynolds and Gerald Everett hauled in a couple of passes to set up Malcolm Brown for an easy five-yard touchdown run, putting them up 17-7.

With Trubisky struggling, Matt Nagy opted to bench him in favor of backup quarterback Chase Daniel but he and the Bears turned the ball over downs. Los Angeles earned a first down on a Gurley carry and sealed their sixth win of the season.
