Since the Los Angeles Rams made the trip out west after 21 years, they have dominated NFL headlines. From the relocation to acquiring the No. 1 pick in the 2016 NFL Draft, the transition to Los Angeles has certainly been a busy one.
The Rams bring with them a star in the making in running back Todd Gurley. Aside from his on-field success, Gurley’s genuine persona has made him a well-liked figure across the league already. He was recently featured in a commercial for Carl’s Jr. alongside comedian Jay Mohr, who helped welcome him to Hollywood:
In a city that is constantly in search of their newest dominant star, Gurley’s prowess both on- and off- the gridiron make him a surefire candidate. With the retirement of Kobe Bryant from the Los Angeles Lakers after 20 seasons, he could be just what Tinseltown is looking for.
Though he has a long way to go, Gurley has shown the grit and determination similar to Bryant’s that goes into the makings of a true superstar. After a devastating ACL injury during his junior year at Georgia, many though it was risky for the Rams to take him with the 10th pick in last year’s draft. Gurley answered those critics by rushing for 1,106 yards and ten touchdowns en route to winning Offensive Rookie of the Year.
By going all in to acquire Jared Goff, the Rams are hoping to improve a porous passing attack that will hopefully give more running room for Gurley by taking defenders out of the box.
