The Los Angeles Rams got back in the win column with a much-needed 28-22 victory over the New England Patriots in Week 11 that brought them back to .500 on the season.

The Rams got off to another slow start as they didn’t score their first points until the 7:18 mark in the second quarter. That’s when Matthew Stafford found Cooper Kupp in the end zone for his first of four touchdown passes.

The Rams defense also came up big as they held the Patriots to only two touchdowns and three field goals. Braden Fiske recorded a game-high two sacks and Kamren Kinchens had a big interception in the fourth quarter that solidified the win.

Rams head coach Sean McVay handed out game balls to Stafford, Fiske, Kinchens and others who spent time with the Patriots after the win:

Rams backup quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo was among those who received a game ball from McVay. He spent the first three seasons of his career with the Patriots and at one point appeared to be the heir apparent to Tom Brady.

However, the Patriots traded Garoppolo to the San Francisco 49ers during the 2017 season and he also spent one year with the Las Vegas Raiders. The 33-year-old is now in his first season with the Rams, but hasn’t taken a snap yet.

Rams senior offensive assistant Jerry Schuplinski, offensive line coach Ryan Wendell and tight ends coach/pass game coordinator Nick Caley also received game balls for their previous stints with the Patriots.

The Rams locker room was clearly in good spirits after getting back to .500 and they will now look to keep it going when they host the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday Night Football in Week 12.

Rams hopeful Tyler Higbee will return in a ‘couple weeks’

After getting healthier in recent weeks, the Rams could soon welcome back another key contributor in tight end Tyler Higbee.

The seven-year veteran out of Western Kentucky has been sidelined since tearing his ACL and MCL during the Rams’ playoff loss to the Detroit Lions last January.

McVay recently expressed that Higbee could rejoin the Rams in the next couple of weeks, which would give Stafford another reliable option in the passing game.

While Colby Parkinson, Davis Allen and Hunter Long have tried their best to fill in for Higbee, none of them are the receiving threats that he can be for the Rams when healthy.
