The Los Angeles Rams will be expecting big things out of Puka Nacua who will be entering his second year in the NFL.
Nacua was the breakout rookie of the 2023 season as he went from relative unknown to superstar almost overnight. Matthew Stafford leaned on Nacua early on in the year and the then-rookie delivered with emphatic performances on the field that led to him breaking several records.
Now with a full NFL offseason under his belt and a better training regimen, Nacua is set to build on that momentum and potentially take another leap. While it’s hard to imagine Nacua posting better numbers his sophomore year, he should be a major part of the passing game come the 2024 season.
In an interview on Up & Adams, both Justin Jefferson and Nacua were asked which NBA players could guard them one-on-one on the football field and both had hilarious answers:
All Pro WRs Puka Nacua and Justin Jefferson kept it 💯 about which NBA PLAYERS could cover them on the gridiron 🗣️😅🔊@AsapPuka @JJettas2 @KingJames @theantedwards_ @heykayadams pic.twitter.com/PwkBTupILo

Nacua and Jefferson both quickly shut down the first few options that were thrown out, which included Austin Rivers, Austin Reaves, Russell Westbrook and Nikola Jokic. They then go through a few more options, before both of them stop to think a bit about Minnesota Timberwolves star Anthony Edwards who Jefferson admits might have a decent chance.
Nacua then gives his first concession to Memphis Grizzlies star point guard Ja Morant though he gives the caveat that it would be in the red zone. However, he immediately rejects the next suggestion of Rudy Gobert and jokes about him having close to the same name as Dallas Mavericks star Luka Doncic who infamously hit a game-winner over the Timberwolves center.
After a few more players, the round ends with the Los Angeles Lakers’ LeBron James whom Nacua says can do anything on the field. Meanwhile, Jefferson says James is more of an offensive player and suggests that the two would play together instead.
It’s a fun exercise as there are several NBA players who have football backgrounds that could probably play in the league, though there’s no chance any of them could defend Nacua or Jefferson in the open field.
Rams’ Puka Nacua doesn’t eat vegetables
Rams star Puka Nacua looks visibly similar this offseason and attributed it to his new diet though he still doesn’t eat vegetables.
