New Los Angeles Rams star Myles Garrett is quickly ingratiating himself into his new home as he attended the L.A. Dodgers game on Saturday night against the Angels and threw out the ceremonial first pitch.

Garrett is one of the greatest athletes on the planet, so it wasn’t a surprise to see him throw a strike to Dodgers pitcher Emmett Sheehan while receiving a nice ovation from the crowd:

As could be seen, Garrett was wearing a shirt of another L.A. icon in Lakers legend Kobe Bryant. The superstar explained why he did that and discussed his admiration of Bryant.

“Shoot, I’ve had love for Kobe since I was a kid,” Garrett said in an interview on SportsNet LA. “I remember playing NBA Jam back in the day and playing with the Lakers because I was such a big Kobe fan. I used to wear the short ‘fro just like Kob’ and that love has been there ever since. I have a lot of respect for how he went about his business. Obviously the Mamba Mentality, but just the way he treated every single game, every single second he was out there. He never took it for granted, and I’ve kind of treated my career and my life the same way.”

Garrett was very involved in the Cleveland sports scene during his time with the Browns as he is a part owner of the Cavaliers. Less than a week after being traded to the Rams, he is already showing love to his new city by attending the Dodgers game and watching them get an easy 9-2 win over the Angels.

The Dodgers are looking to win their third straight World Series, which is something Garrett and the Rams can take motivation from as they look to get back into title contention themselves in 2026.

Dave Roberts happy to see Rams acquire Myles Garrett

One person who is happy to see Garrett on the Rams is Dodgers manager Dave Roberts.

“It’s great. They’re doing it, trying to get the superstars and win,” Roberts said of the Rams. “They’ve already won a championship in ’21, and he’s top of the food chain. It’s going to make a very good defense even better. I’m excited to see him throw out the first pitch and see him in a Rams uniform. It’s good to have him in L.A.”
