The Los Angeles Rams saw their season come to an end in the NFC Championship Game as they fell to their division rival Seattle Seahawks, 31-27, coming up just short in their bid to win another Super Bowl. Matthew Stafford was excellent once again, but it just wasn’t enough as former Rams star receiver Cooper Kupp would catch the final touchdown pass for the Seahawks and they would hold on in the final stretch.

There is obviously a ton of disappointment for the Rams in coming up short, especially against the Seahawks whom they battled with all season long. But if there is just a bit of a silver lining it is with Kupp getting a chance to win his second Super Bowl of his career.

That was evident after the game as Stafford found his former teammate and congratulated him on the win while telling him to go win the Super Bowl, via NFL on X:

This just shows the brotherhood and camaraderie that always exists within the NFL. Even though there is a ton of disappointment for the Rams in losing this game, there remains a great love and respect between Stafford and Kupp from their time together.

Of course in 2021, it was Kupp who had one of the greatest individual seasons for a wide receiver in NFL history, winning the receiving triple crown by leading the league in receptions (145), receiving yards (1,947) and receiving touchdowns (16) while winning AP Offensive Player of the Year.

That domination continued in the playoffs as Kupp caught 33 passes for 478 yards and six touchdowns in the postseason. And in the Super Bowl itself, Kupp finished with eight catches for 92 yards and two touchdowns, including the game-winner, being named Super Bowl MVP.

Obviously losing this game hurts for Stafford and the Rams, especially to a division rival, but the fact that someone as beloved as Kupp has the opportunity to win another Super Bowl is still something to root for as he deserves all of the love and praise.

Rams coach Sean McVay discusses ‘costly’ muffed punt in loss to Seahawks

There were a lot of crucial plays throughout the NFC Championship Game, but perhaps the biggest and most costly to the Rams was the muffed punt by Xavier Smith that immediately led to a Seahawks touchdown. After the game, head coach Sean McVay spoke on the mistake, admitting that it was ‘costly.’
