The Los Angeles Rams went east to play the Green Bay Packers in Week 9, but unfortunately took home another loss as they were beaten down 20-3.

The Rams went into the game shorthanded as they were without Matthew Stafford, who was ruled out with a UCL sprain in his right thumb. Without Stafford available, Sean McVay turned to Brett Rypien, who played poorly during the afternoon.

Rypien only managed to complete 13 of his 28 pass attempts for 130 yards and one interception, severely hampering the offense’s ability to get into scoring position. On the other side of the football, the defense held up for the first three quarters before allowing the Packers to run away with things in the fourth.

Rookie defensive tackle Kobie Turner has been one of the few bright spots of the 2023 season for Los Angeles and he had the privilege of being mic’d up against Green Bay via the Rams’ official YouTube:

The beginning of the video shows Turner getting himself and his teammates hyped up and then transitions into him stopping Aaron Jones on a run play. A montage of several defensive snaps for Turner are then shown, with the rookie fighting hard against the Packers offensive line to create some pressure on their offense.

Turner is then seen talking to his teammates on the bench and trying to keep the mood lively as the Rams are losing. The highlight of the day for Turner was his second half sack on Jordan Love that he was understandably excited about, and later celebrates the defense recovering a fumble.

The video ends with Turner and the rest of defense celebrating in the end zone and afterwards he jokes if he’ll be fined for the action.

It may have been a disappointing game for Los Angeles, but Turner flashed how disruptive he can be as he recorded 10 total tackles, one sack, one tackle for loss and a quarterback hit.

The Rams now have a bye week where they are hoping to get back some key players and hopefully get back in the win column when they take on the Seattle Seahawks in Week 11.

Rams bringing in Carson Wentz to back up Matthew Stafford

McVay has expressed he’s hopeful Stafford can return after the bye, but it appears the team is preparing just in case he can’t go again. The Rams decided to waive Rypien and brought in Carson Wentz to serve as Stafford’s backup.
