With the 2016-17 NFL season still over a month away, fans can get an early preview of their favorite teams with the highly anticipated release of Madden NFL 17.
Each year, Madden has juggernauts such as Cam Newton or Adrian Peterson but for the rookie class, things always seem to fall below expectations. Los Angeles Rams quarterback and this year’s first overall pick Jared Goff was certainly no exception.
To help celebrate the release, the creators of Madden NFL 17 sat down with Goff and other fellow rookies to reveal their ratings:
Although it is hard for any rookie to expect what they think are fair ratings, Goff may actually have a case when it comes to his throw accuracy rating. The former Cal Bear finished his career completing an impressive 62.3 percent of his passes.
Goff’s overall rating came in at 77 which was the same as the second overall pick Carson Wentz, but both quarterbacks were also left off the list of top 10 overall ratings for rookies. However, Goff does not need to worry too much given that ratings for the quarterback position are arguably the most difficult to achieve, especially for a rookie.
Madden NFL 17 releases August 23, 2016.
