Although the Los Angeles Rams are busy preparing for another Super Bowl run in the 2019 NFL season, their new home in Inglewood is only a season away from opening its doors.
The Los Angeles Stadium at Hollywood Park was reportedly more than 70% complete at the beginning of August. The $5-billion project is expected to be finished at some point next summer.
Aside from being the home to both the Rams and Los Angeles Chargers, the arena is expected to host a number of wide-ranging events in entertainment. Regardless, each team has done their fans a solid by keeping cameras on the construction of the stadium.
Here is an inside look on the progress that has been made thus far, via John Kay on Youtube:
Despite still being in its infancy, it is safe to say that Stan Kroenke has some big plans for his new spot in Inglewood. Los Angeles has been pegged to host Super Bowl LVI in 2022, the College Football National Championship in 2023, and the Summer Olympics in 2028 among many other big events.
The league has also made it a point to change the locations of several of their other notable events such as the NFL Draft and the Pro Bowl. Los Angeles would undoubtedly serve as a prime location to help keep the new initiative going.
The stadium is expected to seat 100,000 people and will serve as the crown jewel of the L.A. Stadium and Entertainment District. Although the arena still has yet to agree to a naming rights deal, American Airlines did manage to secure a 2.5-acre space formerly known as Champions Plaza while serving as the team’s official airline.
