There are few players in NFL history with a better underdog story than Los Angeles Rams legend and Hall of Fame quarterback Kart Warner.
Warner famously went from stocking shelves at a supermarket to leading the “The Greatest Show on Turf” to Super Bowl glory. It is a script that not even Hollywood would have seen as a plausible rags-to-riches story.
However, it appears they have now managed to make it come to fruition.
Warner took to Twitter to release a first look at his movie American Underdog, starring Shazam star Zachary Levi as himself and Dennis Quaid as head coach Dick Vermeil:

The biopic is based on the memoir Warner wrote called “All Things Possible,” which was published back in 2009. The film is directed by Andrew and Jon Erwin, who worked on “Woodlawn,” and “I Can Only Imagine”.
The trailer indicates that the movie will be centered around Warner’s rise to stardom with the Rams and will hit theaters on Dec. 10.
Warner’s story is one of triumphs and setbacks throughout a remarkable career that ultimately landed him in the Hall of Fame. He entered the league as an undrafted free agent until being cut by the Green Bay Packers in training camp before his first season.
He went on to spend three years with the Iowa Barnstormers of the Arena Football League. Not only did he manage to make his mark in the league, but the exposure landed him an opportunity with the Rams and the rest is history.
Warner won two league MVPs and led the Rams to a pair of Super Bowl appearances that featured MVP honors in one of them. Although his career included another rise and fall with the New York Giants and Arizona Cardinals, it appears the focus is on his time in Iowa and St. Louis.
