The Los Angeles Rams kept their perfect start to the 2019 NFL season going with a 20-13 win against the Cleveland Browns during primetime in Week 3.
Although there had been plenty of hype surrounding the potential shootout between these two high-powered offenses, it was the defense that ultimately shined brightest and proved to be the deciding factor. It is safe to say that containing wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. was at the top of the list of their primary concerns.
Fortunately, the Rams trio of cornerbacks in Aqib Talib, Marcus Peters, and Nickell Robey-Coleman were more than up to the task. It appears they were not the only ones taking precautions heading into the showdown.
Fans were treated to some rather humorous commentary from Talib after he was wired up against the Browns, via the Rams Twitter:

Aside from the comical aspect of Talib being mic’d up, it is intriguing to see the communication that takes place between both his teammates and opposition throughout the course of the game. Not only is the veteran still one of the most respected cornerbacks in the game but he has also proven to be just as charismatic.
The highlight of the video undoubtedly came during the exchange between Talib and Beckham regarding the latter’s decision to not wear a chain. While the All-Pro is no stranger to wearing jewelry during games, he had no intention of ending up like former Oakland Raiders wide receiver Michael Crabtree with a broken chain on the sidelines.
Of course, Talib took the joke in stride and it is clear that there is a good sense of mutual respect between him and Beckham. More importantly, he and the rest of the secondary managed to limit him to just six receptions for 56 yards on the night.
It has also become quite evident that Talib and Peters are big fans of wide receiver Cooper Kupp. Kupp provided no shortage of reasons to celebrate after hauling in 11 receptions for 102 yards and two touchdowns to help the Rams move to 3-0 on the season.
