Los Angeles Rams defensive end Jared Verse has never been one to shy away from talking smack, and to this point in his career he has backed it up after getting drafted in the first round and winning NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year in his first season.
Everyone meets their match eventually though, and it appears Verse has found his. The 24-year-old boldly called out Rams legend Aaron Donald, wanting to get together for a workout to prove he is stronger than him in the weight room.
Anyone who knows Donald though knows that no one is stronger than him, even after retiring over a year ago. So naturally, Donald responded to Verse’s challenge and the two were able to get together for a workout. Unsurprisingly, things did not go well for Verse as he learned a valuable lesson to never call out the future Hall of Famer:
“You ask, and you shall rece-eee-eee-eee-eee-eee-eeive!”

Verse is well on his way to becoming a star player for L.A. like Donald was for so many years. Even though he struggled to keep up with Donald in the weight room, this could be a valuable learning experience for Verse to see what kind of work it takes to become one of the greatest ever.
One thing that is apparent though is that Verse is not ducking any smoke and was happy to get into the weight room for a workout with Donald.
The unfortunate part in all of this is that Verse and Donald never got to be teammates wreaking havoc on opposing offensive lines as that would have been special to see. Maybe a weight room competition like this will get Donald’s juices flowing once again as he clearly is still in good enough shape to play. The 34-year-old is happily retired though, so he will have to settle for embarrassing young guys like Verse in the weight room to scratch his competitive itch.

Now that he is done playing football, Aaron Donald could be headed for the big screen as the Rams legend recently hinted at a career in acting.
