Although the Los Angeles Rams experienced some notable turnover to their defense this offseason, they can relish in the fact that they have defensive tackle Aaron Donald serving as a foundational piece to build on.

Donald is coming off another spectacular outing after finishing the 2020 campaign with 45 tackles, 13.5 sacks and four forced fumbles. His efforts not only helped him secure NFL Defensive Player of the Year honors for the third time in four years, but it was the primary factor behind the Rams boasting the No. 1-ranked defense in the league.

It is safe to say that Donald has shown no signs of slowing down since the hot start to his illustrious career. Despite having already pieced together a Hall of Fame resume, he is not ready to rest on his merits just yet.

Rigorous workouts have become a staple for Donald every offseason as evidenced by his archives on social media. He recently put his impressive footwork and quickness on display during a session with 2Tenths Speed & Agility:

Donald’s power and explosive first step are what help set him apart from even the most elite interior lineman and pass rushers. The video is just further evidence of the kind of quickness he boasts for a player of his size and stature.

The workout serves as both a warning and some motivation to the rest of the league and those that may be looking to ease up on their offseason workouts. While Donald has widely been considered the best player in the NFL for quite some time now, he is still working to hone his craft.

The 29-year-old juggernaut still has some prime years left ahead of him in his pursuit of a Super Bowl ring. Given how well Donald has taken care of his body through the years, it is not far-fetched to think that he can set a new precedent for interior linemen.
