The Los Angeles Rams have high expectations for the 2019 NFL season and although they will have their work cut out for them trying to return to the Super Bowl, players could not help but express their excitement at the number of intriguing matchups on the schedule.

The league officially released the schedule for the upcoming season on Wednesday evening. Aaron Donald, Eric Weddle, and Johnny Hekker were on hand to hear the announcement.

To no surprise, the defending NFC champs have a number of primetime games to go along with some potential rubber matches as well. At this point, it is safe to assume there will not be any easy games for Los Angeles in the 2019 campaign.

The Rams personnel was certainly not shy about expressing their feelings about the schedule, via Twitter:

The phone call did not get off to the most encouraging start after it was revealed that they would be traveling to face off against the Carolina Panthers in the season opener. Head coach Sean McVay made it clear that a road trip is not the most ideal way to begin the season.

Things get even more interesting as the Rams return home to host the New Orleans Saints in a rematch of the NFC Championship followed by a primetime matchup against the Cleveland Browns on Sunday night. Weddle was happy to hear that he would be visiting Cleveland early on in the season after enduring some harsh weather during his time as a former Baltimore Raven.

Although Donald was unfazed by Weddle and Hekker’s assessment about the frigid temperatures, he could not conceal his excitement for the Rams Week 10 matchup against the Pittsburgh Steelers. The reigning two-time Defensive Player of the Year will surely be looking to put on a show for his hometown.

Once the Rams take care of business in Pittsburgh, they will return home for another primetime game on Monday night against the Ravens. Weddle will also have an opportunity to exact some revenge on his former team.
