The Los Angeles Rams unveiled their new “Midnight Mode” uniform as part of the NFL’s new Rivalries program.

The uniform draws inspiration from the modern design of SoFi Stadium and also reflects the team’s deep connection to Los Angeles, where so many work in the dark to earn the spotlight.

The new design features a matte near-black midnight base with a hint of royal blue. It also boasts royal and sol accents, as well as a full horn curl design on the sleeves as a nod to the Rams’ original jersey.

The “Midnight Mode” uniform and sideline gear will be available for purchase on Wednesday, Sept. 10.

A total of eight teams — all from the NFC West and AFC East — got new uniforms as part of the NFL’s rivalries program.

They will wear this uniform once per season over the next three years in games against division rivals.

The Rams will wear their “Midnight Mode” uniform this season when they host the Seattle Seahawks on Nov. 16.

Sean McVay explains Rams’ decision to cut Pooh Paul Jr.

Pooh Paul Jr. was among the Los Angeles Rams’ roster cuts, and head coach Sean McVay said the decision had more to do with their needs on special teams rather than his talent as a linebacker.

“What we are tasked to do is be able to evaluate what we think, when we went with four inside linebackers, what do we think are the four best inside linebackers?” McVay explained. “And that’s not exclusive to playing inside linebacker. Part of that is playing special teams. And Shaun Dolac’s a guy that’s going to be able to play on all four phases, Troy Reeder is gonna play on all four phases. And so when you look at Landman and Omar Speights as your starting inside linebackers when you’re in your two backer defenses, those third and four spots are heavily dictated and determined by where do you create value, not exclusive to the inside linebacker position. And it’s not anything to take away from Pooh, because I got respect, love (for him) and wish him nothing but the best, but those two guys made themselves really important, and that’s why they’ll have a jersey on game day.”

Paul went unclaimed on waivers but it did not take him long to find a new home as he signed to the Seattle Seahawks’ practice squad.
