The Los Angeles Rams announced that they have tendered contracts to exclusive rights free agents Michael Hoecht, Shaun Jolly and Christian Rozeboom for the 2023 season.

An exclusive rights free agent is any player with less than three seasons of service time and an expired contract. If his original team offers him a one-year contract at the league minimum (based on his accrued seasons), the player cannot negotiate with other teams.

Hoecht, 25, began the 2022 season on the defensive line but eventually moved to outside linebacker in Week 12. The position change proved beneficial as he accumulated 23 of his 24 pressures there, which ranked third on the team behind Leonard Floyd (54) and Aaron Donald (40).

Jolly, 24, appeared in two games with the Rams after being signed off the Cleveland Browns’ practice squad this past September.

Rozeboom, 26, played in all 17 games for the Rams last season and recorded eight tackles, but received most of his opportunities on special teams.

Rams didn’t tender contract to Marquise Copeland

One player the Rams did not tender a contract to ahead of the start of the new league year on Wednesday is Marquise Copeland, who is now an unrestricted free agent.

Copeland signed with the Rams as an undrafted free agent in 2019 and developed into a solid rotational defensive lineman during his time in L.A.

Rams offseason losses

As the Rams looked to get under the salary cap, the team parted ways with Floyd and Bobby Wagner, and traded Jalen Ramsey to the Miami Dolphins.

The team also saw Matt Gay sign a record-breaking contract with the Indianapolis Colts and Baker Mayfield agree to a one-year deal with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
