The Los Angeles Rams are set to be on the road for an extended period time, beginning with Sunday’s game against the Baltimore Ravens at M&T Bank Stadium.

After their win, the Rams will turn their attention to the Jacksonville Jaguars, who they face next week in London.

Rather than fly back to L.A. before their international trip, the Rams will be spending the next few days in Baltimore to lessen the travel time.

“I actually think it’s great because it’s the scenario that we’re dealt,” head coach Sean McVay said of the Rams’ plans. “What we’ll do is we’ll have a normal week of preparation.

“We’ll go out to Baltimore on Saturday, but then we’ll stay out there in our preparation for Jacksonville going into the London game. Then we’ll fly out on Friday. That gives us a good opportunity to really lean in. I think it’ll be good for guys to be able to get a couple days off, let the emotions, let their bodies recover and recuperate. Then we’ll come back swinging on Monday.

“But it’ll be a normal week of preparation and then we’ll just stay out in Baltimore to shorten that trip to London when we go play Jacksonville before our bye. But what a big stretch this is going to be for us.”

The Rams are planning to hold their practices this week at Camden Yards, the home of Major League Baseball’s Baltimore Orioles.

Not traveling back to L.A. will allow players and their families a shorter commute to London, and then they will get to rest up in Week 8 with a bye in the schedule.

Matthew Stafford not thinking about leading NFL in passing yards

Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford entered Sunday’s matchup against the Ravens as the NFL leader in passing yards by a wide margin.

However, none of that is on Stafford’s mind. He is simply focused on doing what he needs to do to help the Rams win football games and improve upon the 3-2 record that they have now.

“No, I don’t think too much about that,” Stafford said. “I’m just trying to execute the plays that are called as best I can. Obviously, I’ve had some success through the air early on in the season, trying to do everything I can to just get the ball to the guys that make the plays.

“Then if there are opportunities for me to make a play, buy a little extra time, do something like that, throw something down the field, then those have come to life. I’m not thinking about that surely in the moment. Maybe some other time when I’m done playing this game but no, I’m just trying to get us in the end zone and score as many points as I can.”
