The Los Angeles Rams are hoping to compete for a Super Bowl in 2025 and with that needs to come improvements to the roster.
If there’s one thing the Rams offense lacked last season, it’s a big-play threat on the perimeter. Puka Nacua is one of the best wide receivers in the league, but the Rams were known to be looking for upgrades to that position group around him this offseason.
Ahead of the start of free agency, it appears the Rams are making a big splash by signing veteran wide receiver Davante Adams to a two-year contract, per Adam Schefter of ESPN:
Six-time Pro-Bowl WR Davante Adams is signing a two-year deal with the Los Angeles Rams, per source.
Adams arrives at a time the Rams are preparing to move on from standout WR Cooper Kupp.

The Rams then posted a Spongebob meme on social media and confirmed the deal:

Even at age 32, Adams is still one of the best receivers in the league. He has five straight 1,000-yard seasons despite not playing with the best quarterbacks and is a six-time Pro Bowler and three-time First Team All-Pro.
In 14 games between the Las Vegas Raiders and New York Jets last season, Adams hauled in 85 receptions for 1,063 yards and eight touchdowns. He has 103 career touchdowns in 11 seasons, giving the Rams a true red-zone threat they have been missing in recent seasons.
With the recent re-signing of Tutu Atwell to a one-year contract, the Rams have a very formidable wide receiving corps with him, Adams, Nacua and Jordan Whittington.
Rams still looking to trade Cooper Kupp
Even before the re-signing of Tutu Atwell and signing of Davante Adams, it seemed that Cooper Kupp’s time with the Rams was coming to an end with him announcing the organization’s intention to trade him early in the offseason.
The Rams still have not been able to deal Kupp, but both Sean McVay and Les Snead recently said it’s unlikely that he returns and now with the blockbuster signing of Adams, that is all but set in stone.
If the Rams are unable to find a trade suitor for Kupp, they may also cut him and allow the franchise icon to sign with a team of his choosing.
