The offensive line has been a big area of focus for the Los Angeles Rams this offseason as they want to ensure that Matthew Stafford stays healthy and upright.

They locked up their left tackle in Alaric Jackson to kick off the offseason, and since then, they have added some veteran depth up front with the signings of Coleman Shelton and most recently David Quessenberry.

L.A.’s 2024 season was almost derailed due to injuries on the offensive line considering they didn’t have adequate backups, and they clearly want to avoid that in 2025. The Rams continued adding to their offensive line room with the signing of veteran tackle D.J. Humphries, his agency announced:

The terms of the deal were not disclosed, but it’s presumably a cheap one-year contract as a backup at both tackle positions.

Humphries was originally drafted by the Arizona Cardinals in the first round in 2015 out of Florida. The 31-year-old has played nine total seasons, the first eight coming in Arizona where he was named a Pro Bowler in 2021.

Humphries spent most of the 2024 season without a team before signing with the Kansas City Chiefs in November. He started two games for Kansas City to close out the season. He was reported to have a deal in place with the San Francisco 49ers earlier this offseason, although it didn’t end up coming to fruition.

As things currently stand, the Rams will head into 2025 with a starting offensive line of Jackson, Steve Avila, Shelton, Kevin Dotson and Rob Havenstein. As far as depth goes, they have Humphries, Quessenberry, Beaux Limmer, KT Leveston, Warren McClendon Jr., Justin Dedich and others all competing for playing time if an injury were to happen.

Davante Adams feeling ‘rejuvenated’ with Rams

The Rams’ big signing of the offense was at the wide receiver position as they brought in former All-Pro Davante Adams. He is enjoying his time in L.A. so far and feels rejuvenated heading into the 2025 season.

“We’ve been going for a minute now, but it’s been good, man,” Adams said. “It’s been exactly what I needed, feeling rejuvenated and really enjoying the time with the guys, getting to know them, getting on the same page with (quarterback) Matthew (Stafford), and just gelling with the whole team right now. It feels like I’ve been on this team for a couple of years now just based on how open and receptive the guys have been to me.”

With their additions this offseason, the Rams should have one of the more formidable offenses in the league this season.
