The Los Angeles Rams announced they signed former Minnesota Vikings offensive tackle David Quessenberry to a one-year deal. Terms of the deal were undisclosed.

Quessenberry appeared in 34 games and started four of them for the Vikings the past two seasons. Prior to playing in Minnesota, Quessenberry also played for the Buffalo Bills, Tennessee Titans and Houston Texans. He was originally a sixth-round pick by the Texans in the 2013 NFL Draft.

The Rams are mostly set with their offensive line as Alaric Jackson, Steve Avila, Kevin Dotson and Rob Havenstein are all returning for the 2025 season. The only question mark is at center as Coleman Shelton and Beaux Limmer are expected to compete for the starting role in training camp.

Los Angeles has been marred by injuries to their offensive line in the past, so adding a veteran presence like Quessenberry provides some much-needed depth and experience at the tackle spots. Quessenberry has the ability to play either the right or left side and has a good chance to make the final 53-man roster given the lack of depth behind Jackson and Havenstein.

The hope is that the Rams won’t need to use someone like Quessenberry as their offensive line is one of the best in the league when healthy. Head coach Sean McVay and Matthew Stafford have shown that the offense can still be elite when there’s adequate blocking up front, so hopefully the group can stay intact during the 2025 season.

Former Rams offensive lineman Joe Noteboom signs with Ravens

Joseph Noteboom was slated to be the Rams’ long-term answer at left tackle or left guard, but he fell out of favor due to injuries. When healthy, Notebook is a versatile offensive lineman that can either start or come off the bench if needed.

Shortly after the end of the 2024 season, Los Angeles released Noteboom to clear some cap space. After being released by the Rams, Noteboom signed with the Baltimore Ravens.

The addition to Kevin Quessenberry will help make up for the loss of Noteboom, who was the Rams’ primary backup at both tackles positions the last two seasons. For a team with legit Super Bowl aspirations, having that depth in place is important, especially up from protecting Matthew Stafford.
