Last season Robert Quinn showed the world that he is one of the NFL’s premier pass-rushers. This year, the St. Louis Rams are making sure he accomplishes everything in a Rams uniform.

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Quinn has signed a new four-year extension with the Rams:

The Rams may have gotten Quinn for a bargain considering he may just be the league’s best pass rusher. He will get around $9 million less than Buffalo’s Mario Williams despite putting up a season that Williams has never come close to matching.

Last season Quinn was a first-team All-Pro after compiling 19 sacks, while also forcing seven fumbles, recovering two, and returning one for a touchdown. He will definitely have a chance to prove his worth this season.

Quinn’s partner in crime on the defensive line, Chris Long, is out for 8-10 weeks, a huge blow for a Rams defense that counts on its line to put a lot of pressure on the quarterback. That burden will now fall almost exclusively to Quinn and rookie DT Aaron Donald.

The best part of this deal for Quinn is that when it does run out in 2019, Quinn will only be 29, allowing him to cash in on another big deal in free agency.
