The Los Angeles Rams had two roster spots to fill after Brian Allen and Bryce Hager were both placed on injured reserve, and they did so on Wednesday as the team announced that they signed offensive lineman Chandler Brewer and defensive back Donte Deayon to their active roster from the practice squad. Additionally, the Rams added center Nate Trewyn to their practice squad.

Los Angeles’ offensive line has been plagued by injuries this season so Brewer will add some depth to that unit after Allen suffered a season-ending injury and Rob Havenstein suffered an injury that will likely keep him out for at least a couple of weeks.

The Rams originally signed Brewer as an undrafted free agent out of Middle Tennessee State this past May. After being cut at the end of training camp, he wound up on the practice squad so if very familiar with the offensive schemes that Sean McVay runs.

Defensive back has been another position that the Rams have lacked depth after injuries to John Johnson III and Aqib Talib as well as Marcus Peters being traded.

Deayon originally signed as an undrafted free agent with the New York Giants in 2016 out of Boise State. He has played in seven career NFL games, earning 13 total tackles. The Rams originally signed him to their practice squad last December, and he also got an opportunity during training camp and the preseason to earn a roster spot before returning to the practice squad to begin the year.

Trewyn, who is another undrafted free agent, originally signed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers earlier this season. He began the season on their practice squad before being promoted to the active roster in October, where he last a month before being waived earlier this week.
