The Los Angeles Rams selected wide receiver CJ Daniels (sixth round) and defensive tackle Tim Keenan III (seventh round) on the third and final day of the 2026 NFL Draft.
The Rams moved up 10 spots in a trade with the Philadelphia Eagles to take Daniels at No. 197. He’s the only wideout that L.A. selected in the draft.
Daniels appeared in 13 games with the Miami Hurricanes last year, catching 50 passes for 557 yards and seven touchdowns. He previously spent four seasons with Liberty and another one at LSU before finishing his collegiate career in South Beach.
Daniels joins a wide receiver room that includes Pro Bowlers Puka Nacua and Davante Adams, as well as Konata Mumpfield, Jordan Whittington and Xavier Smith.
The Rams also added Keenan out of Alabama with the No. 232 overall pick. He started in 12 games with the Crimson Tide last season, registering 16 tackles, three tackles for a loss and two sacks.
Keenan, who was a team captain for Alabama, finished his collegiate career with 95 combined tackles, 12.5 tackles for a loss and 5.5 sacks in 41 games across four seasons.
Keenan should serve as quality depth behind starting nose tackle Poona Ford, giving the team another big body in the middle of their defensive line.
The additions of Daniels and Keenan brought the Rams’ 2026 NFL Draft class to five players; they also selected quarterback Ty Simpson (first round), tight end Max Klare (second round) and offensive tackle Keagan Trost (third round).
Rams head coach Sean McVay clears air about Ty Simpson pick, relationship with Les Snead
The Rams taking Simpson with the 13th overall pick surprised many around football considering they are in win-now mode with Matthew Stafford at quarterback.
The expectation was that L.A. would add another piece to help the 38-year-old get back to the Super Bowl, but they instead took a player they believe will be Stafford’s successor.
A lot of fans weren’t happy about the selection, and head coach Sean McVay didn’t appear to be in a pleasant mood either during his press conference after the first night of the draft.
Many people took that as McVay not liking the pick and perhaps being at odds with general manager Les Snead. However, McVay has since cleared the air, explaining why he wasn’t in a good mood and making sure everyone knows he and Snead are still in lockstep.
