The Los Angeles Rams held two picks in the third round of the 2024 NFL Draft at 83 and 99 overall and first selected Michigan running back Blake Corum and then Miami safety Kamren Kinchens.
Corum was one of the most decorated college players in the entire draft after starring for four years at Michigan and being named an All-American and winning a National Championship in 2023.
In his career with the Wolverines, Corum rushed for 3,737 yards and 58 touchdowns while averaging 5.5 yards per carry. He also caught 56 passes for 411 yards and three touchdowns although he was more known for his prowess on the ground.

This past season, Corum played 15 games during the Wolverines’ championship run and rushed for 1,245 yards and 27 touchdowns on the ground.
The Rams obviously have a star running back already in Kyren Williams, but after signing two guards and a blocking tight end this offseason, they clearly want to make running the football a priority moving football. Corum will allow Williams to stay fresh, forming one of the better running back duos in the league with solid depth behind them.
To finish out Day 2 of the draft, the Rams then added to their secondary with Kinchens, who was a three-year starter for the Hurricane and had 11 interceptions in the past two seasons.
He had 89.6 coverage grade since 2022, sixth among Power Five safeties, per Pro Football Focus.

The Rams lost Jordan Fuller in free agency and although they did sign another safety in Kamren Curl, he can play all over the field. Kinchens should give L.A. some solid safety depth along with Quentin Lake and Russ Yeast.
