The Los Angeles Rams have been hard at work this offseason retooling its roster ahead of the 2024 season.

Armed with cap space for the first time in years, the Rams made several important signings in free agency to bolster their chances for another postseason run. Los Angeles shored up the offensive line with Kevin Dotson and Jonah Jackson, while they rebuilt their secondary by signing Kamren Curl, Darious Williams and Tre’Davious White.

The Rams figure to be in the mix to make some noise in the playoffs, especially with head coach Sean McVay still leading the sidelines. The loss of Aaron Donald greatly affects the defense, though the team will have an opportunity to find his successor in the upcoming 2024 NFL Draft.

Although next season is still a ways away, it seems Los Angeles already has their offseason workout partner as they will reportedly have joint practices with the Houston Texans, via Aaron Wilson of Click2Houston.com:

“And the Texans plan to host the Los Angeles Rams for joint practice sessions during training camp in Houston, per a league source.

The Texans will also face the Rams during the preseason. The timing of the practices is undetermined, but normally those kind of meetings are earlier in training camp. The Texans start camp early because they are in the Pro Football Hall of Fame game against the Chicago Bears on Aug. 1 to kick off the NFL preseason.”

The Rams are in for a solid week of sessions with the Texans, who are one of the rising teams in the NFL. Houston made the playoffs with young star C.J. Stroud under center and the team went out and made several moves that signaled to the rest of the league that they’re serious about competing for a Super Bowl.

Stroud and the rest of the Texans offense will be a good challenge for the young Rams defense. Meanwhile, L.A.’s offense should get some good reps going up against Houston head coach DeMeco Ryans’ defense.

Joint practices can flare tempers given that players will be practicing against other players besides their teammates, but it should be a good experience for both squads come the summer.

Aaron Donald told Sean McVay ‘I’m Full’ after Rams lost to Lions in playoffs

The Rams weren’t caught off guard when Donald announced his retirement from the league. In fact, Donald revealed that he told McVay he was full after the Rams lost to the Detroit Lions in the Wild Card Round.
