Rams Rumors: Seahawks Made Strongest Initial Offer To Sign Odell Beckham Jr.

The Los Angeles Rams needed the bye week to get themselves as right as they have looked like a completely different team the past couple of weeks.

The Rams suffered disappointing losses to the Tennessee Titans and San Francisco 49ers, looking discombobulated on both sides of the field. Matthew Stafford had been playing some of the best football of his career before giving up four interceptions in two games, while the defense has been physically dominated up front.

Los Angeles tried to inject some much-needed juice into the roster by signing Odell Beckham Jr., who was a popular target for several contenders around the league. The Rams ultimately convinced him to come to L.A. but it appears as though the Seattle Seahawks were initially the most aggressive team trying to try and sign the receiver, via Jeremy Fowler of ESPN:

Seattle has largely underwhelmed during the season and it was no surprise to see them chase after Beckham given their offensive woes, while Arizona’s inquiry seems more like it was a matter of due diligence. Aside from keeping Beckham away from other NFC West teams, the Rams signing him also proved to be timely after the news that Robert Woods tore his ACL and would be out for the remainder of the year.

Beckham saw little involvement in his debut against the 49ers as the team fell into an early hole and went to a hurry-up offense in order to try and come back. Head coach Sean McVay said he is focused on getting Beckham up to speed during the bye and it will be fun to see how he looks in Week 12 against the Green Bay Packers.
