Ever since Sean McVay took over as head coach of the Los Angeles Rams and had immediate success, teams have been trying to find the next McVay.

Unfortunately for the Rams, that means that their coaches and staff members are being poached left and right once again this offseason.

It started with the front office with Brad Holmes being hired as general manager of the Detroit Lions and taking Ray Agnew with him to be his assistant general manager. They were able to lure Rams cornerbacks coach Aubrey Pleasant to come with them as he reportedly took a job on the Lions’ coaching staff.

Brandon Staley also didn’t remain in the Rams organization long as after leading the Rams to the top-ranked defense in the league, he accepted the head coaching job with the Los Angeles Chargers. Rams linebackers coach Joe Barry will be joining him as well.

Now, it appears the Rams will be losing their passing game coordinator Shane Waldron as well. According to Adam Schefter of ESPN, he will be the new offensive coordinator of the division-rival Seattle Seahawks:

Seattle is planning to hire Rams’ passing game coordinator Shane Waldron for its offensive coordinator job, per source. Waldron will take over for Brian Schottenheimer.

After the Rams beat the Seahawks in the playoffs, the latter parted ways with offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer due to their inability to move the ball down the field.

This represents a huge opportunity for Waldon, who coached with McVay in Washington and then came over to L.A. with him in 2017. Waldron held a few different roles with the Rams, including tight ends coach, quarterbacks coach and passing game coordinator.

One coach the Rams won’t be losing this offseason is offensive coordinator Kevin O’Connell as McVay blocked him from interviewing with other teams such as the Chargers. The possibility of losing Waldron may have had something to do with that.

The Rams not only face the challenge of improving their roster this offseason but also replacing some very talented coaches and front office members.
