Rams Rumors: Odell Beckham Jr. Expected To Re-Sign With Los Angeles

After an unceremonious release from the Cleveland Browns, Odell Beckham Jr. signed with the Los Angeles Rams and reminded the NFL world he still had plenty left in the tank.

Beckham made up for the loss of Robert Woods, recording 48 passes for 593 yards and seven touchdowns while coming up clutch in close games. The receiver fit like a glove in head coach Sean McVay’s offense, giving Matthew Stafford a reliable downfield and endzone option.

Unfortunately, Beckham tore his ACL in Super Bowl LVI and had to watch as his teammates brought home the trophy. The injury will force him to miss part of the 2022 season, but it sounds like the Rams are still intent on re-signing him anyway,y via Aaron Wilson of profootballnetwork.com:

Beckham Jr., a three-time Pro Bowl selection, is expected to ultimately re-sign with the Rams, according to league sources not authorized to speak publicly.

“Look for OBJ to be back with the Rams at some point,” the source said. “It’s a strong fit, and they know what he can do, and he loves it there. He’s not leaving.”

Before the Super Bowl, Beckham expressed his desire to remain in Los Angeles and even admitted he would consider taking less money to do so. His ACL injury will likely allow the Rams to sign him at a discounted rate, which bodes well for both sides as he can hit free agency again once healthy.

With Woods on track to be ready by training camp, L.A. can afford to have Beckham take his time rehabbing and have him available the second half of the year. Beckham alongside Woods, Cooper Kupp, and Van Jefferson makes for a potent receiving corps, leaving the Rams well-positioned to retain its elite offensive output.
