With two games remaining in the 2016-17 NFL season, the attention surrounding the Los Angeles Rams has seemingly shifted toward which head coach they are going to sign in the offseason.

With plenty of cap space, a talented roster, and the second-largest market in the nation, Los Angeles has become one of the more sought-after landing spots in recent history. As a result, the Rams are expected to cast a huge net in hopes of catching the big fish to help turn this team around.

According to Jason Cole of Bleacher Report, a package deal consisting of both Kyle and Mike Shanahan could be intriging:

“Offensive coordinator Kyle Shanahan is expected to be one of the hottest candidates on the head coaching market this offseason with the L.A. Rams and the Jacksonville Jaguars already interested,” Cole said. “One concept Shanahan is hoping to execute is the idea of bringing his father, a former head coach (Mike) with him as head of football operations or team president. The Shanahans have a strong bond and want a chance to work together again if possible.”

Shanahan served as offensive coordinator for the highest-scoring team in the league this year with the Atlanta Falcons. As a result, it should come as no surprise he will enter the offseason with some attention, especially for a Rams team that has all but become a stranger to the end zone in recent years.

Meanwhile, his father’s experience as a three-time Super Bowl winner could carry a positive culture change within the organization. Not to mention, he has worked with some of the greatest quarterbacks of all time in John Elway and Steve Young. His experience with quarterbacks of that caliber could do wonders for a young Jared Goff.
