The Los Angeles Rams entered the offseason with an extensive list of possible candidates for their head coaching vacancy. However, it now seems the front office has already become quite interested in Washington Redskins offensive coordinator, Sean McVay.
According to Tom Pelissero of USA Today, Los Angeles wasted no time in coordinating another interview with McVay:

Interestingly enough, McVay is already a bit familiar with the team’s brass after he and COO Kevin Demoff were with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers back in 2008. However, what has made this young coach so enticing is his familiarity with young quarterbacks. McVay has received high praise for grooming Cousins into possibly the next highly-paid franchise quarterback since taking over play-calling duties in 2014.
Despite being just 30 years of age, he already boasts quite an impressive resume that dates back to his grandfather John McVay, who served in the San Francisco 49ers front office during their rise to prominence in the 1980s. The former has seemingly already paved his own path, even working with the likes of Jon Gruden and Mike Shanahan.
Furthermore, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports that should McVay become the new head coach, he would make Wade Phillips his first choice as defensive coordinator:

If the Rams were to hire McVay, it would make him the youngest head coach in league history since a 31-year-old Lane Kiffin took over the reins for the Oakland Raiders in 2007. It should be noted that much like Kiffin, historically young coaches usually do not pan out too well. However, with a coach like Phillips, whose coaching career spans nearly five decades, it could be just what the Rams youth movement needs. Since it has been noted that the 49ers were also impressed after their interview with McVay, it is possible Los Angeles could feel tempted to act fast.
As of now, the Rams are still expected to meet Kyle Shanahan, Vance Joseph, and Mike Vrabel in the coming weeks.
