After a 3-1 start to the 2016-17 NFL season, the Los Angeles Rams are currently 4-7 heading into their matchup against the New England Patriots. Much of the blame has been on head coach Jeff Fisher, who has not had a winning record since taking over five years ago.
Despite the Rams on their way to yet another losing season, COO Kevin Demoff recently suggested there is more to Fisher’s coaching tenure than just his record. As a result, Fisher and general manager Les Snead have both signed extensions according to Alden Gonzalez of ESPN:

While the deals reportedly had been ‘done for a while’ dating back to the preseason, Adam Schefter of ESPN shares Fisher’s job will still be in danger if the Rams do not play well down the stretch:

Since taking over five years ago, the Rams have been no better than 7-8-1 under Fisher. In addition, the franchise is tied for the NFL’s most total penalties and fewest average yards per game during his tenure.
While Eric Dickerson still believes Fisher should be fired after meeting with the team, the head coach recently expressed he was ‘not uncomfortable’ surrounding his future with Los Angeles beyond the season.
