That Los Angeles Rams had just about as bad of a season as a team could have after winning the Super Bowl. But now entering this offseason, with a salary cap situation that is not ideal, the Rams front office has some decisions to make. The team has already parted ways with linebacker Bobby Wagner and now there are some rumors about star cornerback Jalen Ramsey.
Ramsey was named to his sixth consecutive Pro Bowl this year but overall had an up-and-down season. Regardless, he remains one of the top cornerbacks in the NFL, but the Rams remain over the salary cap thanks to the moves they have made in recent years and now Ramsey could potentially be a casualty of that.
According to Tom Pelissero of NFL Network, the Rams have engaged in trade talks on Ramsey and some believe it is very likely that he is traded in the coming weeks:
The #Rams have had trade talks about six-time Pro Bowl CB Jalen Ramsey and league sources now believe it’s very likely Ramsey is dealt in coming weeks.

Of course Ramsey is very active on social media and never shy about voicing his opinion on anything, especially rumors involving himself. The Rams cornerback simply laughed off these latest reports:

The Rams went all-in on assembling the necessary roster to win a Super Bowl, not caring about picks or future salary cap implications in order to take home the Lombardi Trophy last season. But now that is all coming back around and the future of this team is looking bleak.
The front office will have to figure out a way to get under the cap and the release of Wagner was a step in that direction. But even if they were to move Ramsey as well, it still wouldn’t be enough to get the Rams under the salary cap which means more moves are on the way whether or not Ramsey is traded.
Decisions will have to be made for the Rams this offseason and it seems very likely that the roster next year will be much different than the one that started this past season.
