Since becoming the Los Angeles Rams head coach, Sean McVay has established his own sprouting coaching tree.
McVay’s offensive scheme is one of the most creative in the NFL and teams have tried to replicate his success by hiring away his coordinators. In six seasons, McVay has seen the likes of Matt LaFleur, Zac Taylor, Brandon Staley and Kevin O’Connell leave for their own head coaching gigs and do well for themselves as they’ve each led their respective teams to the postseason.
Replacing members of his coaching staff has become the norm for McVay, who is looking at a larger-than-usual overhaul this time around. After the disappointment that was the 2022 season, the Rams and McVay parted ways with several coaches and will possibly see more depart as multiple people have gotten requests for interviews.
One under-the-radar name to watch out for is passing game coordinator and quarterbacks coach Zac Robinson. According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, Robinson is set to meet with the Los Angeles Chargers and Baltimore Ravens for their vacant offensive coordinator positions:

The Chargers let go of Joe Lombardi after they embarrassingly lost in the Wild Card round to the Jacksonville Jaguars after going up by 27 points in the first half. Meanwhile, Greg Roman decided to step down from his position with the Ravens after their offense steadily declined throughout the season.
Robinson is no stranger to NFL offenses as he was a former quarterback that spent time with several teams around the league before transitioning to become an analyst. Robinson eventually found his way to the sidelines after McVay hired him to replace Taylor who went on to become head coach of the Cincinnati Bengals.
Between the Chargers and the Ravens, the former would appear to be the more attractive landing spot as they have a superstar quarterback in Justin Herbert plus several weapons in players like Keenan Allen and Austin Ekeler. Baltimore would be a more desirable job, but there are legitimate questions about Lamar Jackson’s future with the team after the two sides could not agree on an extension.
There’s no guarantee that Robinson lands either job, but he’s surely a name that’s been gaining steam in recent weeks. It’ll be interesting to see if Robinson ends up being another person that McVay must find a replacement for in the coming months.
