The NFL has officially announced the schedule for the 2025 regular season, giving the Los Angeles Rams their path to building on a successful 2024 season that saw them come within striking distance of defeating the Super Bowl Champion Philadelphia Eagles in the Divisional Round of the playoffs.
But before the regular season can begin, the Rams and head coach Sean McVay must get through training camp and the three-game preseason schedule.
The Rams’ preseason schedule looks very similar to last season, as they will be taking on the Dallas Cowboys, Los Angeles Chargers and Cleveland Browns. They played both the Cowboys and the Chargers last preseason as well.
The Rams are at home against the Cowboys to kick off preseason. The two teams did not play during the 2024 regular season, but the Cowboys were a massive disappointment and face huge expectations to bounce back this season. They’ll stay at home for the second preseason game, “hosting” the Chargers. They get the home team designation after being the road team against the Chargers last preseason.
L.A. ends the preseason against an intriguing opponent in the Browns. Cleveland is not expected to be good this season, but have one of the more fascinating quarterback battles in the league, with Joe Flacco, Kenny Pickett, Dillon Gabriel and Shedeur Sanders all in the mix. What combination of that group the Rams face could be very telling for what the Browns might do at the position to start the season.
The Rams are entering the territory of legitimate contenders in the 2025 season, after impressing with a young defense and battle-tested offense and winning a playoff game in 2024. Their major offseason move involved replacing Cooper Kupp with Davante Adams, adding another dynamic to L.A.’s offense.
The defense, led by now sophomores Jared Verse and Braden Fiske, is another year more experienced while still being one of the cheapest units in the league. The Rams are one of the most intriguing teams in football, and seeing them in preseason action is sure to bring excitement to a fanbase ready to see their team contend once again even if the starters do not play.
