The Los Angeles Rams announced that they placed running back Darrell Henderson on the Reserve/COVID-19 list and cornerback Robert Rochell on IR.

Sean McVay revealed at Saturday’s practice that Henderson was dealing with an illness, so it appears he has tested positive for coronavirus and will miss this Monday’s contest against the Arizona Cardinals.

It’s unfortunate news that the Rams will be without their top rusher in their most important game of the season to date. On the year, Henderson has 142 times for 648 yards and five touchdowns, averaging 4.6 yards per carry while also hauling in 27 receptions for 172 yards and three touchdowns.

Henderson was active for the Rams’ Week 13 game against the Jacksonville Jaguars although he did not play a single snap due to a quad injury.

In his absence, Sony Michel had a very solid game, carrying the ball 24 times for 121 yards and a touchdown. He will likely take on lead-back duties once again on Monday night against Arizona now that Henderson is in the league’s health and safety protocols.

As for Rochell, the rookie has been dealing with a chest injury and now will miss at least the next three games after being placed on IR. The cornerback has only played a handful of snaps on defense but has been a key special teams player for L.A. this season.

With Rochell being placed on IR, the expectation is that linebacker Justin Hollins will be activated and return to action against the Cardinals after missing a majority of the season with a pectoral injury.
