The buzz around the Los Angeles Rams’ new SoFi Stadium just continues to grow as it gets set to officially open its doors this summer. The stadium recently announced its massive 4k Oculus video board, and of course will be hosting some of the most important sporting events of the decade.
From Super Bowl LVI, to the 2023 College Football Playoff Championship, to the 2028 Olympics, the excitement is palpable even for events many years away. While the Rams and Los Angeles Chargers will be providing entertainment to fans in between such massive events, there is one event a year away that should get people excited: WrestleMania 37.
In a video released by the WWE, they have announced that the city of Inglewood and SoFi Stadium will host next year’s WrestleMania event:

WrestleMania has consistently been one of the most exciting events in the sports entertainment world. With special appearances by retired wrestling legends, other sports stars and movie stars, there is no telling what could happen.
Los Angeles has hosted WrestleMania three times in total, with the last time being at the Staples Center in 2005. Since then, the event has moved to bigger venues, typically football stadiums.
With SoFi Stadium set to become the premier stadium of Southern California, Rams COO Kevin Demoff shared his excitement for bringing major sporting events back to the area via his personal Twitter:
Great to welcome @WWE and @WrestleMania to @SoFiStadium next year. The power of our stadium to bring back major events like the Super Bowl and Wrestlemania that have not been in LA for decades is great for our city https://t.co/jk14uyQhGa

Events like the Super Bowl or WrestleMania also help boost the economy of the host cities. There should be plenty of new jobs and increased commerce thanks to SoFi Stadium.
Not only that, but big events like this can help prep the stadium for hosting international events like the Olympics. WWE executive vice president John Saboor believes that is exactly what WrestleMania will do, via Arash Marzaki of the L.A. Times:
“So many of the organizations that came together to attract WrestleMania 37 to Los Angeles were the same ones that worked to bring the Super Bowl to Los Angeles,” said John Saboor, WWE executive vice president of special events. “We now regularly host WrestleMania at venues that either hosted the Super Bowl a year or so prior or after and it’s a wonderful opportunity for those regions to build blue prints that they can use for hosting major events such as WrestleMania and the Super Bowl.”
With all this news about events at SoFi Stadium, it will be hard to wait to see the finished product. It will officially be opening this July for a pair of Taylor Swift concerts, and the Rams’ first game there will be in the preseason this August.
