After years of losing to them, the Los Angeles Rams finally got their revenge on the San Francisco 49ers when they were able to defeat them in the NFC Championship to advance to Super Bowl LVI.
Like he has throughout his career, Aaron Donald came up clutch as he was able to pressure Jimmy Garoppolo into an interception that ended the game and punched the Rams’ ticket to the championship round. Throughout the playoffs, Los Angeles was determined to help Donald complete his resume with a Super Bowl win, and they did just that by overcoming a second half deficit against the Cincinnati Bengals.
Just like the NFC Championship game, it was Donald who once again came up big as he got a hit on Joe Burrow as he was throwing, resulting in an incompletion. Donald rose up from the ground and ecstatically pointed out his left ring finger, calling for the jewelry that had eluded him previously.
The 2022 NBA Finals recently wrapped up with the Golden State Warriors overcoming the Boston Celtics in six games. Stephen Curry nailed a dagger three in the decisive Game 6 and afterward, mimicked Donald’s ring celebration. In true Curry fashion, he made sure to shoutout the star defensive tackle when asked about the gesture, via @rams_szn:

Curry was eventually named the Finals MVP, adding an award that he had been missing much like Donald. The two are generational talents that led their respective teams to titles this year, and their legacies are forever cemented when talking about the greats of each sport.
With each being masters of their crafts in their respective sports, it would not be surprising to see either celebrate another championship a year from now.
