The Los Angeles Rams could not be any happier that they have finally hit their bye week after falling short the previous couple of weeks.

The Rams were embarrassed by the San Francisco 49ers on Monday Night Football as they failed to get off the field on third downs while offensively they were far from sharp. It was a disappointing effort in all three phases, though fortunately, Los Angeles gets a week to recalibrate and get themselves right for the homestretch of the 2021 season.

One of the bright spots from the game was Von Miller was able to make his Rams debut, though the veteran is looking forward to using the time off to get healthy and learn the playbook more according to Stu Jackson of TheRams.com:

“Bye week is always good,” Miller said postgame after Monday Night Football. “I can get a little bit more healthy. I feel like I was healthy enough to play tonight, but let’s take a little bit to go. This bye week can help me get healthy. This bye week will help me learn the playbook a little bit more. This defense had some carryover, but I still need to learn it. This bye week and next week, it’ll be good for me.”

Miller has been nursing an ankle injury, but the training staff deemed him healthy enough to go against the 49ers which is a great sign. Because it was his first game with L.A., his snap count was understandably limited though it is widely expected he will play the lion’s share of downs opposite Leonard Floyd going forward.

AS far as how he looked, Miller showed how dangerous the Rams defensive line can be as he was able to generate a couple of pressures on Jimmy Garoppolo when the 49ers found themselves in rare passing situations. Even at 32 years old, Miller has some juice left and should be more productive as he gets more comfortable within the team’s scheme.
